About

After attaining her Certified Shorthand Reporter Certificate in 1974 in Chicago, Karen freelanced with an agency for five years.  She was then employed by the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois as the Official Court Reporter to the Hon. Joel M. Flaum and then the Hon. Ilana D. Rovner.  Karen relocated to Fort Myers in 1993 and freelanced in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.  She joined Von Ahn Reporting in 1997.  In 2002, along with her three partners, she purchased the business Von Ahn Associates.
